Autumn Fayre 2010
|
|
The Autumn fayre this year was a splendid event for lots of reasons. The main 3
being that George Arthur, Local butchers extraordinaire were there and were giving
away their glorious produce. Samples included venison, chicken, beef and succulent
fish from T & J fisheries. Second was the presence of Terri Jayne musical theatre
group who were amazing, and lastly but by no means least, were the food and craft
stalls that help make this village gathering so special every quarter. Huge thanks
also to everyone who attended and please don’t forget to join us on Saturday 11th
December 2010.

Fayres in the Square
|
Lightwater Fayre in the Square! Sat 10th July, Sat 25th September, Sat 11th
December.
In conjunction with Lightwater Business Association Duffys Budgens is pleased to
host Lightwater Fayre in the Square. These events are our version of a village fete
but occur every 3 months. To us it is a celebration of what makes Lightwater so
special and different. We usually have village choirs, schools, dancers, craft stall,
tombolas and not mention lots of free food and drink from local and national suppliers.
If you haven’t already experienced this community event, please make a date in your
diary.

Goodbye
|
|
On behalf of all the staff team (and many customers) we would like to wish Edna
Perry, Wendy Waugh and Joan Bickmore a very, very happy retirement. All three ladies
have been part of the staff team here at Budgens for many many years and will be
greatly missed. Whilst writing I would also like to pay special tribute to Shirley
Tye for her tremendous loyalty, friendship and commitment. Shirley Died suddenly
in 2009 and is still missed.
